WHAT IS AN ASSOCIATION?

An association is an organization of people with a common interest. Participation is voluntary and this organized group of people are often working together because of a shared profession or beliefs. Association’s don’t use their resources to benefit an owner or shareholders but to benefit a cause or the organization’s members.

RGI clients each have a dedicated team designed to meet the specific needs that focus on each association’s unique culture and industry challenges. Client teams vary in size and function while working under the direction of a very specific scope of work written and approved in collaboration with the client.

In support of our core values RGI has established 25 behaviors that we live by every day related to what defines the RGI Attitude, How We Work with Our Client, How We Work with Each Other and How I Do My Own Work. We hope this gives you a glimpse inside what it means to be an RGI team member.

RGI is always looking for talented team members who are dedicated to helping our partner associations thrive. RGI team members are members of:

RGI is better when we welcome and accept people as their authentic selves, and intentionally seeks diversity of race, gender, age, sexuality, ability, religion, nationality, geography, political views, appearance, gender identity, and other characteristics. RGI creates an environment of education and growth to support diversity initiatives for staff and clients.

Internships

WHY CHOOSE AN RGI INTERNSHIP?

RGI’s commitment to continuous learning and professional development extends to helping young professionals use their education and experience to explore a fulfilling career in association management. Interns become an integral part of multiple RGI client teams while working directly with an internship supervisor. Internship schedules are flexible. Successful internships have grown into a career opportunity with RGI.

At RGI, we offer two internship opportunities: Meetings Intern, and Marketing and Communications Intern. Both roles offer hands-on experience and the chance to build valuable skills while contributing to meaningful projects.

Our internships are offered during three terms:

Spring: January – April

Summer: May – June

Fall: August – December

To learn more about the day-to-day experience of an RGI intern, read this blog by Summer 2024 Intern Lindsey Bowers. She shares a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to be part of our team.

RGI interns gain hands-on experience by contributing to a variety of projects across multiple clients. Each internship is designed to help students build practical skills, explore different aspects of association management, and prepare for a successful professional career. See a real example of the intern experience in Ethan’s Day in the Life video.
