3 Ways to Engage your Association Members on Social Media

In an age where there are more than two billion monthly users on Facebook and 328 million monthly users on Twitter, it’s safe to say your content may be getting overlooked. It’s important to combat this issue with effective strategies to provide better service to your followers and to increase your association’s online presence.

 

  1. Do something new. Each association has a voice around their brand. Keep this in mind when posting on social media, but show some personality as well. It’s important that you don’t just sell the association. No one wants to see post after post about why you should join. Throw in an inspirational quote or  a behind-the-scenes look at a cool new member benefit.
  2. Ask questions. This is an easy way to drive engagement, and a good way to make personal connections. For example, during a conference, ask a question about what they’re enjoying or learning. This small and simple way is a great way to grow engagement.
  3. Understand the difference. You may not be getting the engagement you want due to the way and where you’re posting. Decide your audience and your goals, then research deeper into each platform to see which will work best for you.
